Flash Flicks - The Welly Way!
Jade and Leann are meeting with Kidwelly based pupils from Ysgol Glan y Mor on Wednesday 14th January to discuss working in partnership with a steering group of young people on an exciting youth cinema project at the Centre.
This is a youth-led project called Fash flicks that has potential to become a self-sustaining project in the future and most importantly it is what the youth asked directly for. We were so excited that their top venue choice is here at the Princess Gwenllian centre!
Kidwelly food and drink festival held a cinema evening for the kids area in our function room a couple of years ago and it went down a treat so we know we have the perfect space to host this.
If the youth group’s, self named “The Welly Way” funding application is successful we will hopefully have new cinema equipment for the centre to deliver this exciting youth project.
We also hope to use this opportunity to engage with local young people further to deliver other activities that they would like to see at the centre. Laying the foundations for a vibrant, creative youth environment at the PGC!
